Awesome experience Great food very romantic setting. Great for a romantic dinner. Food was awesome. Great service. I always come here every time I visit Monterrey bay.

Best seafood on Monterey Wharf Nicely surprised and impressed for a touristy wharf with this refreshingly delightful restaurant on so many accounts. A great memorable dining experience, good fit a special occassion too. Seafood was fresh, enticingly presented, locally sourced and promptly served. Had steamed crab, crab Louie with organic Salinas lettuce, a decadent stuffed crab pretzel (yum), hot peach pie, and latte. Very attentive waiters. View of the bay at this 2-story restaurant with a mixture of tables & comfortable booth seating separated with glass partitions. A bar seating area is also available. Overall very clean, a bit dated but cozy and quaint, old-school design with wood paneling, carpets in warm colors. Appreciated that the dining area is quiet with well-behaved children, but no booster seating and strollers.

The best clam chowder Clambake Melt in your mouth deliciousness. Ordered this twice while visiting the area. Very clean and professional waiting staff

Eat here The best place to eat on the wharf.Much nicer than you would think to find on a wharf,and the food is great.Don't hesitate to ask your server what they recommend.

Delectable Desserts Although we have consistently loved our many dining experiences at Old Fisherman's Grotto, both during lunch or dinner, today we decided to have hot tea and a dessert at 4 pm, or teatime. Significantly, the hot water was very hot - very important for a proper cup of tea and I was with someone from England. We were presented with an impressive dessert tray making it a challenging choice! I chose the generously sized chocolate cheesecake surrounded by blackberries and whipped cream which was fantastic. Not overly sweet but a perfect flavor and thick consistence - we loved it. My friend had the tiramisu which was so delicious and creamery. So, our advice is, don't skimp on dessert next time you dine at Old Fisherman's Grotto. A perfect sweet ending to your meal!

Would stay again Stylish place with sea view, friendly and fast staff. Very good dishes, even elaborate. The dessert I think is on offer because they asked us if we wanted it after the check, but I wouldn't swear. There tournaments definitely

Best seafood ever Best seafood ever. The crab tower with avocado and mango sauce was delicious. The halibut with sauce was wonderful. The coconut shrimp was delightful. The owner came by to say hello and the ladies get a rose. And reasonable prices.

Seeking a delightful and memorable experience? I have been coming here for over 40 years. It has always been incredible. It has only gotten better over the years. Chris has taken his father's success and vision and taken it to the next level. Every dish we had was wonderful. The soup that we remembered as excellent, was! Our waiter, Sal was excellent and professional. If you want an incredible experience or a romantic experience or a gourmet meal this is the spot. By the way they have a no stroller and no high chair policy. We took two well behaved children and they were treated like family and catered to. We felt very special. Do not miss a chance to eat here if you are anywhere nearby. It's a six . All day, every day.

Old Fisherman’s Grotto Great spot for fresh seafood. The waiters will try and upsell you on a bottle of water vs fresh iced water in a glass, but the atmosphere and food were amazing!

Excellent service and food 4 of us had dinner here and we all enjoyed the meal. Our server, Sal (or maybe Sol? Pronounced a bit like Saul), was excellent - very attentive.
